In 2008 out of curiosity Sido found his way to a yoga class above his working place, one of the first classes of Kristin Vikjord in Amsterdam (co-founder of Delight Yoga). This is where he discovered Astanga Vinyasa Yoga. He soon noticed the positive effect of yoga on his physical and mental condition. After exploring various yoga systems he sticked with Astanga Vinyasa as his core practice. Until in 2012 he discovered Yin Yoga and found his ideal balance in the combination of the two.
After a 10-day Vipassana retreat (as taught by S.N. Goenka) in India, Sido decided to start a yoga teacher training with Delight in 2013 to deepen his knowledge of yoga. A great fire was ignited to explore into the Self and this was the beginning af many trainings and retreats in the field of meditation, self discovery, healing & energy work and many yoga teacher trainings (900+ hours, almost all at Delight Yoga).
In 2015 he found his Guru in the Advaita Zen Master Mooji. It were his pointings that made him truly look within and explore into the truth of what we are. Through Mooji’s teachings he also became interested in other Masters like Sri Ramana Maharshi, H.W.I. Poonja (Papaji), Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, Adyashanti and Alan Watts who all point in the same direction.
Recently Sido discovered Restorative Yoga — a deep meditative practice that brings you into that pure state of presence — and is eager to share this beautiful practice with you as well.
Sido believes yoga is not a physical practice that requires great flexibility but an exploration into the nature of your own being and to completely become one with that. Sido is very grateful for all the teachers who have transferred their wisdom to him over the years. He is looking forward to share this wisdom with you and invites you to explore into nature of your own being.
Sido is registered with Yoga Alliance (E-RYT 500 & YACEP) and as an official Restorative Yoga Teacher. He often shares some live music at the end of a class.
